Summer Stage 2017 Includes Umphrey’s McGee with Aqueous, Gov’t Mule, Mavis Staples

The 32nd year of the New York Summer Stage Series has been confirmed and promises to host more than 100 different groups thoroughout the five boroughs. As always, most shows are free with the exception of a few benefit concerts that help fund the remaining performances. Dates and locations are scattered but the first performance with Gov’t Mule will be May 17 in Central Park.

So far, the following benefit concerts have been announced: Gov’t Mule and the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Elvis Costello & the Imposters, Umphrey’s McGee with Aqueous, PJ Harvey, Regina Spektor, All Time Low, SWMRS, Watersparks and the Wrecks, the Revivalists and White Denim, Young the Giant with special guests Cold War Kids and Joywave and the War On Drugs.

The list of free shows is ever-growing but the first few are as follows: Mavis Staples with Toshi Reagon & BIGLovey, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Main Source, Chloe x Halle, DJ Marly hosted by Roxanne Shante, Digable Planets, Margret Glaspy and Alexander F, Denzel Curry and many more.
