Grace Potter’s blend of blues and good ‘ol rock and roll will be making a stop in the heart of the upstate NY wine country at Constellations Brands Marvin Sands Performing Art Center (CMAC) in Canandaigua, NY on Saturday Aug. 2.
Grace Potter got her start in 2002 as a self-produced indie artist. The band started off playing the jam band music circuit and they were playing as many as 200 shows a year in order to build their fan base. The band signed with Hollywood Records in 2005 and since then, have gained momentum. Grace Potter had a major country hit with Kenny Chesney in 2011 — “You and Tequila” — toured with Chesney on the Brothers of the Sun Tour in 2012 and played Farm Aid that same year. They also opened for Dave Matthews Band on a few tour dates in 2013 and the Rolling Stones in June 2015 including joining them on stage for a rocking rendition of “Gimme Shelter.”
Grace Potter’s shows have often been described as powerful, sultry and intense. She embodies the spirit of Janis Joplin, Tina Turner and Koko Taylor with a bit of Stevie Nicks mixed in. She is currently on tour in anticipation of her upcoming release Midnight which is available for pre-order now and will be released on Aug. 14, 2015.
Grace Potter will be making a stop at CMAC Saturday August 2 with doors at 6:30pm and show starting promptly at 7:30pm.
Check out the band’s website for more information . Tickets can be purchased directly through CMAC’s ticket website or through Ticketmaster.
