Musical All Stars To Gather For Bill Withers Tribute Show At NYC’s Carnegie Hall

Celebrating his induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year, a collection of stars will gather to pay tribute to Bill Withers at the historic Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The Oct. 1 tribute show is billed as “Lean On Him: A Tribute To Bill Withers At Carnegie Hall.”

Several artists including D’Angelo, Ed Sheeran, Sheryl Crow, Dr. John, Michael McDonald, Aloe Blacc, Kathy Mattea and Keb’ Mo’, and more will be performing 1973’s Live At Carnegie Hall. Bill Withers and his wife will be in attendance at the show but no word on whether Mr. Withers himself will perform or not.

Several levels of ticketing ranging from $48 to $10,0000 include General Admission, VIP Pass, Backstage Pass, and a Dinner With Bill Pass. They can be purchased through the event’s website.

The concert is the 12th “music of” show presented by Michael Dorf, founder of the Knitting Factory in 1987. This series at Carnegie Hall is a special annual project he produces as a way to raise funds for Music Education program.
