This Friday, 2016 SAMMYS nominee The Lightkeepers will debut their sizzling warm soul-funk sound to Shifty’s on Burnet Ave in Syracuse. The Lightkeepers are currently nominated for Best Jam Band in this years Syracuse Area Music Awards show that will be held at the Palace Theatre on March 4th.
The CNY native quintet consists of seasoned musicians who hold a collective 30+ years in the industry, in separate groups, which include Dark Hollow, The Hook, Boots N Shorts, and Soul Risin’, just to name a few. The music and energy created on a nightly bases by these “keepers” have a bold sense of 60’s and 70’s female powerhouse vocals accompanied with smooth folk-rock rhythms.
