Wilco Announces Fall Tour in Support of New Album

On the heels of last week’s surprise free release of their latest album Star Wars, Wilco announced the band will be hitting the road for a North American tour this fall.

Supporting Wilco on the tour will be William Tyler, a guitar player who played in the bands Lambchop and Silver Jew before releasing two critically acclaimed solo albums in 2010 and 2013.

The tour will launch in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and meander across North America before finishing up at Stubb’s in Austin, Texas, for two shows on Sept. 29 and 30. The sole New York date on this fall tour is at the State Theatre in Ithaca on Sept. 23.

The indie rock band, based in Chicago, is known for an impressive live show. The band formed in 1994, with a regularly shifting lineup for the first decade, but the lineup has been solid for the last 10 years. Star Wars is Wilco’s ninth album, and the band has two Grammys and four Grammy nominations under its belt.
