The String Cheese Incident Announce Fall Tour and New Year’s Dates

The String Cheese Incident has announced that the band will pack up the mozzarella and hit the road this fall on their “Roadtrip To Hulaween Fall Tour,” playing 13 shows in nine different cities. The touring cycle will start in Minnesota on Oct. 14 and will pull apart in Florida on Nov. 1.

The Skyway Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Madison Square Garden in New York City will see two separate dates. The band will play Suwannee Hulaween at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida on all three show dates.

Besides Madison Square Garden in New York on Oct. 23 and 24, Syracuse will get the only other New York tour stop on Oct. 21 at the F-Shed Marketplace.

There will be no opener for the touring cycle as the band has labeled each show on the tour as “An Evening with SCI.”

From Boulder, the band has also announced its plans for a New Year’s homecoming, playing at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado Dec. 31-Jan. 2. SCI was formed in 1993 and has released nine albums.

In 2003, the jam band’s in-house ticket selling service at the time (SCI Ticketing), sued Ticketmaster for controlling all larger venues the band was playing. SCI claimed Ticketmaster violated the Sherman Antitrust Act by restricting the band to only 8% of the tickets to sell to their fans at these venues. After unsuccessful petitioning by SCI and other bands including R.E.M. and Pearl Jam to the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate Ticketmaster’s high service fees and anti-competitive practices, the parties settled in 2008 while gaining a larger allotment of tickets to sell and agreed to not publicize the settlement.
