Lights and Sound to Fill the Air This Weekend at Night Lights Music Festival

A lot of festivals occupy the summer concert season but no other closes out the summer in western New York quite so nicely, and brings an excitement to Fall that Night Lights Music Festival does. The event takes place this weekend — September 11-12 in Sherman, NY. The festival which takes place on the same grounds as The Great Blue Heron Music Festival has been closing out the local Summer Festival season the past few years. Anticipation for this year’s event is in full force. The two-day concert is jam-packed with talent and gives everyone a taste of local up and coming heavy hitters.

Friday will include local standouts Funktional Flow and Aqueous. Headliner The Werks and a return of festival favorite Marco Benevento. Broccoli Samurai will follow The Werks with the 12:30 a.m. slot and Neon Veins will close out the night with the late night 2:00 a.m. set.

Saturday will begin earlier with music starting at 12:00 p.m. with Daybreak Radio and Rochester’s Ocular Panther at 1:00 p.m. Buffalos Sonder will play at 3:00 p.m. and Aqueous will play a second set on the main stage at 5:30 p.m. before the night music gets underway with a Smackdab, Jimkata, Lazlo Hollyfield, RJD2 run that will get everyone busy late into the night. A Talking Heads set with Lazlo & Friends and Neon Veins closing out  a late night set again for the night owls.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate, for $80. The ticket includes camping and two days of music and activities. Day tickets can also be purchased at the gate for $50 each.

Other than music one of the highlights of the festival takes place in the woods with trails and trees all lit up with all sorts of great lights as well as one of the best drum circle experiences, it is one not to miss.
