Joining Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann will be right-hand man Jeff Chimenti on keys, Allman Brothers and Aquarium Rescue Unit bassist Oteil Burbridge and crooner and guitarist John Mayer. Tickets go on sale to the public Aug. 10 via Ticketmaster.

Dead blogger Grateful Dean wrote in a post yesterday that the Dead & Co. have 21 dates booked throughout the U.S. that will be announced after the initial sales for the Halloween run, and that additional musicians will join the group throughout the tour, including a possible return of Phish frontman Trey Anastasio.

The Dead played the famed Manhattan arena 52 times. In May, the group was inducted into the MSG Hall of Fame.
