Buffalo Iron Works

Within Downtown Buffalo’s Historic Cobblestone District, the early 1900s factory may appear to be nothing more than one of many buildings of its kind. However, within its walls, Buffalo Iron Works is one of the most fascinating concert venues in the area. With live music, pub food, and a full bar, the 500 capacity venue brings music and culture to the Historic Cobblestone District, showcasing the future of music, while remaining a relic of Buffalo’s industrial past.

Developers Sam Savarino and Roger Trettel took a building built circa early 1900 and preserved its historic character, while updating the building enough as to create a fully functioning destination in Buffalo’s Cobblestone district. An ode to Buffalo’s Iron Industry, the roots of the venue run deep, Buffalo Iron Works serving as a small glimpse into a deeply historical past. At one point in time, Buffalo was home to the world’s largest steel plant.

Aside from the original wood floors, the integrity of the building remains intact, the wooden beams once used to support the floor have since been converted into the venue’s service bar. Despite the modern twist on the historic building, you can still see where the old overhead pulley system was, a massive copper cornice, and an old brass elevator.

Buffalo Iron Works has consistently mesmerized spectators through its remarkable array of shows, covering a diverse spectrum of genres and artists. Since owners and operators Josh Holtzman and Grace Veneske’s launch of their full-scope production company Twenty6 Productions, Buffalo Ironworks has become a hub for live music events, their calender stocked full of a variety of live events.

Buffalo Iron Works, a fusion of the city’s storied past and a promise for its boundless future, is a venue that anyone can enjoy. Whether it is an appreciation for the venue’s history, a love of live music, or a pallet for delicious food, all who attend will leave with a newfound appreciation for all that Buffalo has to offer.
