Brian LaPoint & the Joints Host Free Hurricane Harvey Benefit Concert in Malta September 7

It is a bittersweet feeling – In a time of political and moral separation across the nation, it takes a natural disaster to bring people together to fight for a similar cause. Well, “when life gives you lemons…” Although everyone is most likely aware of the storm’s wake, some might not know about the copious amounts of ways to contribute to Hurricane Harvey relief funds.

Brian LaPoint & the Joints

Music lovers and philanthropists alike can take heart knowing there are many music benefits occurring across the country. This Thursday, a free benefit concert will be hosted by Brian LaPoint and the Joints and presented by Nanola Restaurant in Malta, New York. Although the show is free, Brian LaPoint says they will be collecting donations throughout the night and will donate the lump sum directly to the Red Cross. The restaurant will open at 11 a.m. with performances beginning at 8 p.m.

Five groups have generously donated their time to help raise awareness for the relief effort and include: Factory Radio at 8:00, The Bear Bones Project at 8:30, Soul Sky at 9:30, Bendt at 10:30 and Brian LaPoint & the Joints at 11:15.

Each band is diverse and range from alternative to postpunk/psychedelic rock styles, ensuring that most anyone will hear something they like. Those unable to attend can always donate directly to the Red Cross and rest assured that their donation will make a direct impact.
