W. Y. Huang
Singer-songwriter W. Y. Huang is gearing up to release his sophomore EP in early 2022. His latest single, “Living With Ghosts,” is a melancholic indie pop ballad with some folktronica influences. Huang grew up in Singapore before emigrating to New York City and eventually Albany, and boasts an equally well traveled range of sounds. In 2019, Bandcamp Daily featured his debut EP Crossing the Great Water as an essential release.
Justin LaPoint
Vermont singer-songwriter Justin LaPoint began honing his folk and bluegrass sound at 17, when he started writing his own songs. He released his debut album Bear Country in 2017, and followed it up with single “Wide Open Spaces” in 2020. On October 1, he released his newest song, “My Oh My,” which is expected to appear on his upcoming EP.
TIP
Four-piece alt-rock band TIP released their EP, ABI on September 28. The project comprises two singles, “Dave” and “Ellipses,” and follows previous albums Full Swing and Besides. Upbeat and energetic, the chemistry between TIP’s members is obvious and it makes perfect sense that they were college friends before forming the band.
