Kopernik Park in the Oneida Square Arts District transforms every Monday evening through August 26 with free live music, art, performances, food trucks and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere as the fourth season of the Levitt AMP Utica Music Series kicked off Monday June 24th.
Kopernik Park will come alive with free music featuring regional and national headlining acts along with local opening bands. The series will feature a diverse lineup spanning across genres including funk, rock, jazz, county and latin.
The Fabulous Mojos opened the series featuring Cathie Timian on vocals, this new six-piece band dishes out blues, jazz and soul. 17 year old Maggie Stephens was the featured youth intermission performer. Stephens was invited to perform after her participation in the Utica Teen Sing Off event held last month at Handshake City. Wrapping up the first night of the series, The Claudettes from Chicago hit the stage as the first headliner of the year.
Levitt AMP Utica Coordinator Michelle Truett encourages everyone to come down to see what the Levitt AMP Utica Music Series has to offer. Truett says, “Year four, we’re going bigger and better. Diverse bands, unique activities. Plenty for everyone of all ages to enjoy. Once you experience it, you’ll want to come back every week!”
The concert series is presented by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation and the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties with the support of premier season sponsors including Empire Recycling Corporation, Confidata and ERL Intermodal Corporation, MVP Health Care and the M&T Bank/Partners Trust Bank Charitable Fund.
