Intrepid Travelers Announce Winter Tour and Solstice Fest

IT Fest Gets a New Name

Have you seen IT? Intrepid Travelers have announced a string of Winter 2018 tour dates just in time to unleash their latest endeavors in the studio. With that news, comes a re-branding of sorts. After showcasing their own IT Festival over the last two years in Alden, New York, the Buffalo-based group decided to pack up old memories and open up shop in new territories for a revamped festival.

Sam Pavlovich (bass/vocals), Brian Calisto (guitar/vocals), Donny Frauenhofer (keys/vocals) and Jon Fohl (drums/vocals) will bring growth to their beloved IT Fest during this year’s summer solstice with a brand new location, name and band member for its third run around. Appropriately named Solstice: two nights with Intrepid Travelers, the reinvented festival will take shape from June 22-23, just in time to celebrate new beginnings with the summer solstice.

June 21 marks the Summer Solstice, the point in which the Sun has reached its northernmost point on its celestial sphere. But in its literal definition, the word “solstice” is defined as “the furthest culminating point ; a turning point.” Well, we thought it was quite literally an aligning of the stars that an astrological event could parallel the experience of this band since the last time we convened, so we decided to call this year SOLSTICE : Two Nights with Intrepid Travelers and celebrate the Sun with you all on June 22 – 23!

Newest members of the IT family include friends and the festival’s Hannibal, NY property owners Gabriella Gauger and D.K. Gauger, offering up their personal space for a fully unique experience. Having covered MGMT’s album Oracular Spectacular from start to finish in the past, this year’s festival execution leaves a world of wonder in regards to what surprises and improvisation IT will relinquish to their fans.

Be on the lookout for more announcements concerning Solstice and check out Intrepid Travelers on the road as they pass through N.Y. at Rochester’s Flour City Station on March 2 and the Sportsman Tavern in Rochester on March 17.
