The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival will take place this year from June 23 through July 1. The full club pass and free show lineup was announced today at the Riverview Ballroom at the festival’s new official hotel, the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside, which will be the new spot to check out the nightly late night jams. The headliner series at the Kodak Hall at Eastman Theater was previously announced.
The free shows this year are anchored by an opening weekend featuring St. Paul and the Broken Bones and dobro-extraordinaire Jerry Douglas and his band on the East Ave. and Chestnut St. stage. The Hooligans, which is Bruno Mars’ band sans Bruno himself, will close out the festival with a big show at Midtown Plaza’s Parcel 5. Jazz Street will once again host free shows by local high school bands as well as other acts during the evenings.
