Nickelback Announces North American Summer Tour

Canadian rockers Nickelback, have announced their plans to hit the road to support the band’s upcoming ninth studio album Feed The Machine. The tour will hit 40-plus cities across North America this summer.

Former American Idol star Chris Daughtry, and Missouri hard rockers Shaman’s Harvest, will help support the tour with Cheap Trick filling in for Daughtry on select dates. The tour kicks off on June 23, at the Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville, IN, and wrap up Oct. 1, at Pepsi Live, in Vancouver, BC.

New York will have a chance to “Feed The Machine,” when the tour makes stops on July 1 at Nikon at Jones Beach in Wantagh, July 10 at SPAC, in Saratoga Springs, and July 12 at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Corfu.

Nickelback has accomplished many achievements throughout the bands 20-plus year career. Throughout the 2000s, Nickelback has sold over 50 million albums worldwide making them one of the most successful Canadian rock bands in history. That feat also made Nickelback the eleventh top selling artist in the United States, and second behind the Beatles when it comes to top selling foreign acts in the U.S.

Nickelback has released over 35 singles. Six of the bands eight studio albums have reached platinum certification by the RIAA. Nickelback’s third studio album, Silver Side Up (2001), has earned a six times platinum certification. The bands smash hit off the album “How You Remind Me,” spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Nickelback’s most successful album, All The Right Reasons (2005), is certified eight times platinum by the RIAA. The album saw five top-twenty singles make the Billboard Hot 100 charts making it one of the few rock albums in the U.S. to produce five or more top twenty hits. They were the first band throughout the 2000s to have three top 10 singles from one album with “Rockstar,” “Far Away,” and “Photograph.”

Nickelback have won numerous awards. They have won American Music Awards for Favorite Pop/Rock Album in 2006 for All The Right Reasons, and Favorite Pop/Rock Group in 2007. The band has also won several Billboard Music Awards including Top 100 Hot Song and Top 40 Song Of The Year for “How You Remind Me” in 2002, Top Rock Album and Top Duo/Group for All The Right Reasons in 2006, and Record Of The Year for their single “Rockstar” in 2008.
