The Chainsmokers Set to Blaze North America

EDM duo Alex Paul & Drew Taggart, better known as The Chainsmokers and one of the hottest edm artists over the last year, have announced their plans to pack up the coffin case and bring their turntables on the road for an extensive tour of North America titled the “Memories Tour 2017 Do Not Open.” The tour will make stops in 35 cities across the U.S. and Canada.

The Chainsmokers have stated on social media that not only are fans getting a new tour, but they can expect a totally new production for this go ’round and even hinted that a new album will be released. The tour will see special guest Kiiara and feature New York native Emily Warren, who has wrote many songs for high-profile artists including The Chainsmokers’ hit “Don’t Let Me Down.”

The needle will hit the record on April 13 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL and come to a close when the club lights burn out after a two night stay on June 9-10 at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY.

Upstate New Yorkers will also have a chance to see the “Don’t Let Me Down” duo when they invade Albany’s capital region on April 21, at the Times Union Center.

Surrounding area and NY fans who like road trips can catch The Chainsmokers on April 20 at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT, April 22 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA and during a two night stay on June 3-4 at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA.

The Chainsmokers have recently won an American Music Award for Favorite Electronic/Dance Artist, a NRJ Music Award for Best New DJ and are currently nominated for three Grammy Awards including Best New Artist, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the single “Closer” which features vocalist Halsey and Best Dance Recording for the single “Don’t Let Me Down” which features singer Daya.

The duo’s first #1 hit on the Billboard 100 ,”Closer,” spent 12 consecutive weeks at number one and is certified 4x platinum by the RIAA. Their single “Don’t Let Me Down” was the group’s first single to break into the top five (at #3) and is also certified 4x platinum.
