Updated: 2017 Lockn’ Initial Line-Up Revealed

On Thursday, Dec. 8, Lockn’, Virginia’s beloved festival, held annually at Oak Ridge Farm, announced its phase-one artists, in increments throughout the day, for their fifth installment of the festival.

Topping the bill, they announced that The Avett Brothers will be making their Lockn’ debut this year.

The first announcement also included three other names: Brandi Carlile, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will be returning once again, and what would Lockn’ be without Keller’s Grateful Gospel mornings? Keller Williams is also confirmed in this initial announcement.

Stay tuned for updates as other artists will be announced for the initial line-up. Tickets for the festival are now on sale through its website.

Update 1:50 p.m:  This year moe. will be joining the Lock’n bill for the first time ever; as well as, a debut JJ Grey & Mofro Lockn’ set. Eric Krasno Band, Gov’t Mule, and John Butler Trio have now been announced for the 2017 line-up.


Update 4:00 p.m.: Recently added to the list of Lockn’ 2017 performers include TAUK, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Margo Price, The Suffers, Marcus King Band and Los Colognes.

The lineup is being revealed through puzzle pieces making up the Lockn’ logo. At the moment, it looks as if there are still two headline acts to be announced.


Update 12/9/16: Lockn’ has revealed the full initial line up for the 2017 installment of the festival. The final announcements included the addition of Greensky Bluegrass, another Lockn’ debut, and returning talents, Umphrey’s McGee and The String Cheese Incident.

As a final touch, Phil Lesh & the Terrapin Family Band and Widespread Panic completed this incredible bill of artists and the puzzle. The String Cheese Incident and Widespread Panic have been a part of every installment of Lockn’, with the exception of last year, and their return is thoroughly celebrated.
