Freak Out, Suwannee Hulaween Is Almost Here

The fourth annual Suwannee Hulaween festival is fast approaching, so get your 80s themed costumes ready, make your way to the Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park in Live Oak, FL, and get your Halloween hangover started off right. The festivities kickoff with the preparty on Thursday, October 27, featuring Marco Benevento, The Kyle Hollingsworth Band, EOTO and Friends, The Werks, Fruition, The Heavy Pets, Greensky Bluegrass, Umphrey’s McGee and many more live acts.

The party will be in full swing Friday, October 28, featuring an eclectic palette of the top acts in contemporary live music, highlighted by two headlining sets by The String Cheese Incident, as well as performances by My Morning Jacket, Umphrey’s McGee, Gramatik, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Boyz Noise, Sunsquabi, Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires, Benevento, Russo, and Burbridge, Future Rock, and Greensky Bluegrass.10-31-15_dsc03313_hulaween_music_festival_string_cheese_incident_halloween_set_by_dave_vann

While Friday at Hulaween promises to be one of the most action packed nights of festival season 2016, pace yourselves, because Saturday is hot on its heels. Once again, the String Cheese Incident will top the bill, this time upping the ante by adding a third headlining set. Rounding out the schedule is a litany of the freshest notebenders and beatmakers on the planet, including Larry Keel and Drew Emmitt, Manic Focus, Snarky Puppy, Lettuce, Logic, Disclosure (DJ set), The Revivalists, and STS9.

If The String Cheese Incident can do it again, so can you. And not only does Sunday give you two more opportunities to catch SCI, but it also offers a chance to take in a whole new crop of organic artists, including The Travelin’ McCourys, The Motet, Big Gigantic (featuring The Motet), Rebelution, Twiddle, and The Claypool-Lennon Delirium.

In addition to the full slate of live music, Suwannee Hulaween maintains a reputation as one of the premiere festival experiences in the country. The Stringier Things costume contest gives fans a chance to win tickets based on the best 80s sci-fi/pop culture costume and best decorated campsite will get a crew of creative campers VIP upgrades. Spirit Lake will be the setting for the weekend-long visual arts extravaganza, featuring light shows, art installations, yoga, meditation, hooping, sound healing, workshops, and the silent disco. Plus, the Suwannee Music Foundation and Conscious Alliance will host a food drive to Support Love, Inc. Food Bank in Live Oak, FL. The first 600 patrons to donate 20 non-perishable food items or the suggested monetary amount will receive this poster by Nathaniel Deas.

NYS Music will see you in Live Oak!
