Night Lights Music Festival Closes Out August with Some Heat

The Night Lights Music Festival was everything you could hope for. Full of kind people, spectacular weather and great moments all weekend long, including a wedding that brought tears to many friends eyes and all around great vibes throughout the festival.nightlights2016-52

Among many great bands, Aqueous played all three nights putting in the most work as well as Mike Gantzer and Dave Loss providing a magical moment as they provided the opening music for NYS Music’s own Kat Horton and David Burdzy’s wedding. Gantzer and Loss played Phish’s “Waste” as the wedding party approached the stage, a truly magical time surrounded by so many close knit friends in the music scene.

Other highlights from the weekend included Jimkata, The London Souls, Beats Antique, Eric Krasno Band, Funktional Flow among others. Krasno at one point joined The London Souls on the Woods Stage and rocked an excellent version of CSNY’s “Ohio.” One band that really opened a lot of eyes and ears was Pittsburgh’s The Commonheart, who played two sets with one being a tribute to Joe Cocker which was unbelievable. Night Lights seems to be getting better and better each year and next years event will surely be on everyone’s radar.
