Rock the Boat: Wild Adriatic Returns to Floating Festival, Announces Summer Slam

Having recently wrapped a five-week jaunt across Europe, Wild Adriatic dropped exciting news this week about upcoming dates.

The Capital Region rockers will return aboard the Rock Boat floating music festival next winter, and the group soon followed this with an announcement for Summer Slam 2016 tour dates.

Albany’s favorite power trio will kick off the headlining tour in Wisconsin on May 27 with several stops scheduled in New York, including Hunter Mountain Jam Festival, Saranac Brewery in Utica, Patchogue’s 89 North and the Pleasantville Music Festival, before closing out the run in Vienna, Virginia, on Oct. 7.

The Rock Boat

Hosted by Sister Hazel, the 17th annual Rock Boat music festival sets sail from Tampa, Florida, on Feb. 10, 2017. It includes five full days of live music, theme nights, drinking tournaments and more activities onboard the Norwegian Jade. The 2,500-capacity cruise ship is scheduled to anchor in Harvest Caye, Belize, and Costa Maya, Mexico, returning Feb. 15.

This marks Wild Adriatic’s second time aboard the Rock Boat, and this year they will share the 965-foot performance vessel with Andy Grammer and Better Than Ezra, among others. Past lineups have featured artists like Michael Franti and Spearhead, Barenaked Ladies,  Marc Broussard and Zac Brown Band.

Wild Adriatic remains touring in support of the group’s first live album, released in April 2016, but plan to return to the studio this fall. While the sophomore record is still to be named, the band secured Grammy-nominated producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith (Jet, the Darkness, Meat Puppets) to produce the upcoming full-length release.

The pre-sale for Rock Boat passes ends June 3; tickets will be released publicly on June 15. For more information, on stateroom pricing visit the event’s website and browse the FAQs.
