The Quinnsanity Continues: Ryan Quinn Advances on The Voice

Monday night began The Voice Battle Round. Clinton native Ryan Quinn, who turned four chairs on last week’s episode, engaged in the first battle of this round of NBC’s The Voice. He and fellow Team Adam artist Katie Basden, who had been Levine’s final choice for his team earlier in Monday’s broadcast, performed a  roaring duet of Paul McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed.”

The Battle Round pits members of the same team against each other, with the team coach left to choose which of the two will remain on the show. Levine was left with a tough choice following Basden and Quinn’s duet, exclaiming, “I sure wish I had a hole I could climb into.”

Levine eventually chose Quinn, stating that his voice is limitless, meaning the Westmoreland resident will move on to the next round, the Knockout Round.

The catch with the Battle Round is that when one artist is eliminated, the other coaches have the opportunity to “steal” that person for their team. Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton both vied for the steal with Shelton eventually winning over Basden despite Levine’s best efforts to sway her Aguilera’s way.
