Festy News: Panorama Announces Lineup for its First Year in NYC

In January as the Battle of the NYC Festivals was unfolding, only one artist was leaked as a rumor to headline the yet-to-be-named Panorama festival: LCD Soundsystem. Now, an impressive lineup has been revealed for Panorama, the three-day festival taking place July 22-24 on Randall’s Island in New York City.

AEG Live, organizers of Coachella and several other major music festivals, met some mixed reactions about announcing a new NYC festival (originally planned for Queens), tentatively planned for shortly after NYC’s homegrown Governors Ball Music Festival took place. However, Panorama finally settled on the same site as Governors Ball but with a few more weeks in between the two festivals.

Panorama Lineup

Panorama has announced LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire and Kendrick Lamar as its main headliners. The festival will also feature Alabama Shakes (with three fresh Grammy Awards), Silversun Pickups, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Sia and the National, among others.

Panorama will also host a number of NYC-area based acts, including headliner LCD Soundsystem, a DJ set by Mike D of the Beastie Boys, Here We Go Magic, Lloydski, Blood Orange, Jai Wolf, The Julie Ruin, Melanie Matinez (contestant from The Voice), Caveman, JDH & Dave P, A$AP Rocky, Flatbush Zombies, the Front Bottoms (NJ), SZA (NJ), Holy Ghost!, Show Me The Body and Justin Strauss.

Tickets for Panorama are being sold only as a three-day pass and go on sale March 4. All purchases include free admission to the Queens Museum, which will have its newest exhibition, “Hey! Ho! Let’s Go: Ramones and the Birth of Punk,” on display until July 31.
