Phish to record new album

Phish will record a new album in Nashville next month.

Trey Anastasio, the legendary jam band’s frontman, let the news leak at the soundcheck for tonight’s sold-out show at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater.

A JamBase contributor heard the news outside the venue:

Luckily, the Phunion has already pre-reviewed the new album:

The groundbreaking jam band already announced it won’t tour this fall, though band members are touring with their solo projects. Phish released its well-received last album, Fuego, in June 2014. That album was also recorded in Nashville, as well as Burlington and Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

The band is in the middle of its summer tour, taking them from Oregon to New York and back to Colorado. In the first group of shows, Phish has treated audiences to a handful of new tunes, including “Shade” and “Blaze On.”
