Buggy Jive Releases Anthem for Wishy-Washy Dudes, “Love at 50 Percent”

Buggy Jive, a soul rock singer/songwriter based near Albany, released his newest single on Oct. 13. The song, titled “Love at 50 Percent,” lightheartedly expresses reluctance to commit wholeheartedly to a partner. The singer described this newest release as “an anthem for wishy-washy dudes.”

“Love at 50 Percent” is the second single to be released from Buggy Jive’s upcoming album Daedalus Down. The full album will be available on Dec. 8 and will include the lead single “Meaning in the Morning,” which came out on Sept. 2. A virtual B-side, “Song for Liars,” was released this month alongside “Love at 50 Percent” and will also be included on the album.

Daedalus Down was originally conceived as an EP of outtakes from Buggy Jive’s previous album, Icarus Ascending; however, the project soon grew to a full-length album. The connection to the earlier remains, with each of the nine Daedalus Down tracks sharing a thematic concept with a song on Icarus Ascending.

Buggy Jive has a number of live performances scheduled for the coming months. A Nov. 2 solo acoustic show in Syracuse will introduce listeners to more songs from the artist’s upcoming album, and the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance’s industry showcases from Nov 12-15 will also feature Buggy Jive. Additionally, he plans to perform in Saratoga Springs in December and in Washington D.C. in January.

“Love at 50 Percent,” “Song for Liars,” and many more songs from Buggy Jive are available now on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
