The Island Takeover launches this summer on Papermill Island in Baldwinsville, presented by Cumulus Media Syracuse, 95X and 93Q, with a nearly weekly schedule of concerts, themed nights and community events running June through September.
The season opens Tuesday, June 3 with a launch party featuring music, games, food trucks and a chance to win an Island Takeover Season Pass, which grants free admission to all island events throughout the summer.
National acts headline the early calendar. Almost Monday performs Monday, June 9, and a triple bill lands Saturday, June 14 with Joe P and The Crowe Boys with special guest Braison Cyrus. Additional national touring acts are expected throughout July and August.

Beyond the headline shows, the series fills the summer with a mix of themed nights including Emo Night, Yacht Rock Night, 80s and 90s Nights and Country Line Dance Night, alongside Family Fun Days, outdoor movie nights, foam parties, a Night Market series with local vendors and food, a high school Battle of the Bands showcase in August and a Silent Disco closing out the season in September.
June also features a performance from the B’ville Pop and Rock Orchestra, and July includes a Leon Day Party. The Honk Festival lands in August.
Food on the island comes from the Wildcat on Wheels with additional food trucks rotating throughout the season. The series is sponsored by UnitedHealthcare and Melo Roofing.
