Tanglewood, a music and learning campus, summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and a historic venue in Western Massachusetts, has announced its 2026 summer season featuring an array of unique performances and events.
The 2026 season will begin June 21 and end on September 2, featuring artists such as James Taylor, Cynthia Erivo, Carrie Underwood, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and more performing at Tanglewood.

The season celebrates America’s 250th birthday by celebrating iconic American artists as a part of the E Pluribus Unum: From Many One, a theme that has been consistent throughout many of BSO’s seasons.
The 2026 season will additionally include a collaboration with Tanglewood and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Yo-Yo Ma will be performing a week of concerts and events. We the People: Our Shared Past, Present, and Future, the program curated by Yo-Yo Ma, invites the audience to consider their relationship to each other and the world.

The popular artist series will additionally highlight multiple celebrated artists in rock, country, reggae, and jazz, special guests include Lukas Nelson, Ziggy Marley with Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue.
The BSO President and Chief Executive Officer, Chad Smith, stated, “Each summer Tanglewood renews its promise as one of the world’s great gathering places for music, ideas, and community at the highest level. As we mark America 250, we are especially excited to continue exploring the American experience through our E Pluribus Unum: From Many One programming. In addition to a compelling set of programs led by BSO Music Director Andris Nelsons, we are thrilled to have artist-led curations by three visionary leaders in the arts: Yo-Yo Ma, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Laurie Anderson. This summer, more than ever, Tanglewood is a destination for people of all ages to experience the life-changing power of creative expression amidst our campus’ idyllic natural setting embedded in the vibrant cultural landscape of the Berkshires.”

In 1936, Serge Koussevitzky led the orchestra’s first concerts in the Berkshires, with artists taking up summer residence at Tanglewood a year later, and in 1940 he founded the Berkshire Music Center (now called the Tanglewood Music Center). In the summer of 2019, educational offerings at Tanglewood were expanded in the inaugural season of the Tanglewood Learning Institute at the new Linde Center for Music and Learning – a four-building, multi-use complex that also provides additional concert and rehearsal space for the Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, MA.
Tickets can be purchased at Tanglewood.org on March 5 at 10 am or by calling 888-266-1200. More information can also be found on Tanglewood’s website. A full list of Tanglewood’s events can be found below.
