Oteil Burbridge, acclaimed bassist for Dead & Company and the Allman Brothers Band, announced a six-date headlining fall tour with his renowned ensemble, Oteil & Friends. The run includes a highly anticipated return to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester on October 3.
Joining Burbridge on this leg are longtime collaborators Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band), Steve Kimock, Jason Crosby, Johnny Kimock, Tom Guarna, and Lamar Williams Jr., making for a lineup steeped in jam band legacy and soulful improvisation.
Burbridge has been a defining force in jazz and jam music for over 30 years. He first rose to prominence with the influential jazz-fusion group Col. Bruce Hampton & the Aquarium Rescue Unit before becoming the longtime bassist for the Allman Brothers Band, earning two Grammy nominations and a Lifetime Achievement Award. Since 2015, Oteil has toured with Dead & Company, performing in major stadiums nationwide and preparing for a 24-show residency at the Sphere Las Vegas in 2024.
The tour announcement comes on the heels of Burbridge’s recent high-profile performances, including the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebrations in Boston with the Boston Pops, and his celebrated appearances with Dead & Company during their groundbreaking run at the Sphere in Las Vegas. With momentum building from these landmark shows, Oteil & Friends are poised to bring their signature blend of groove, soul, and improvisation to the forefront this fall.
Before the fall tour kicks off, Oteil is set for a busy summer, including Oteil & Friends performances at the Hudson River Music Festival in Croton-on-Hudson and Roots Rock Revival in Big Indian. He’ll also rejoin Dead & Company for their special 60th anniversary celebration of The Grateful Dead at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco this August—adding to a landmark year for the genre-defining bassist.
