Saugerties’ The Local has extended their 2025 spring season with four additional shows, including sounds from Congo, Creole and South Africa.

This year’s lineup of performances span across multiple genres. From jazz to hip-hop to Korean folk rock, guests at The Local can expect an incredible performance every time. This season, The Local introduces a select curation of alcohol, including wine, beer, sake and nonalcoholic options, in addition to light snacks from local vendors, including Samosa Shack in Kingston. Additionally, The Local will continue their summer concert series at sculpture park Opus 40, which Rolling Stone describes as “the best outdoor performance venue in the Northeast.”
“We’re always amazed at the caliber of the artists who perform here, but it’s even more special given the intimate space—there’s not a bad seat in the house—and the great vibes coming from the audience,” The Local co-founder Danny Melnick said.

“Opus 40 is a spectacular 6.5-acre bluestone sculpture that sits among 60 acres of forest at the foothills of Overlook Mountain, but it’s also a destination for the arts. Concerts at Opus 40, with its beguiling natural backdrop and starry skies above, make it a place like no other on the planet to experience music. We’re thrilled to curate the outdoor concert series this summer, featuring a wide range of performances from international touring bands to some of our region’s most acclaimed artists,” The Local co-founder Isabel Soffer said.
Since September 2023, The Local has hosted the Saugerties community to celebrate the craft of music in a friendly space with great sound, atmosphere, drinks and bites. The Local was founded on the belief that diverse, accessible and thoughtful arts programming is able to open the minds of all and is pivotal to a healthy community. The venue is committed to cultivating and sustaining a vibrant local arts scene.
