2025 Eddies Music Awards Celebrate Local Music Excellence in the Capital Region

On Sunday, April 28, The Capital Region’s vibrant music community took center stage at the 2025 Eddies Music Awards, held at Proctors in Schenectady. More than three dozen awards were presented at the 7th annual event, honoring the incredible range of talent across genres, roles, and contributions to the local scene.

The evening opened with a powerhouse performance by Blasé DeBris, setting an electric tone for the night. The event featured performances by a dynamic roster of local artists, including CAMTRON5000, Zorbas Trio, Shannon Tehya and The Troupe, and Margo Macero. The show was expertly emceed by Capital Region favorite DJ Trumastr, who also teamed up with DJ Nate da Great for a crowd-rousing set that had audience members dancing in the aisles.

Among the night’s award highlights, Buggy Jive and Caity Gallagher shared honors in the only tie of the evening for Songwriter of the Year. Meanwhile, Album of the Year went to Zan & The Winter Folk for “New Morse Code,” the band’s debut full-length album released Aug. 2024.

2025 Eddies Music Awards

This year’s Merit Awards recognized two exceptional community projects: Diver Library’s “Let’s Make a Song Project, a full-fledged songwriting workshop that’s brought together people of all ages to explore creativity, collaboration, and the pure joy of music-making; and No One You Know Presents Tortured Poets Concert Series, a unique event that invites local musicians to perform emotionally charged covers and original music that reflect their own journeys, while also raising awareness around mental health.

A major announcement capped the night, as Proctors Collaborative introduced an expansion in their partnership with WEXT Radio. Moving forward, WEXT will serve as the Eddies Music Awards co-presenter, further solidifying the event’s commitment to the Capital Region’s musicians and music supporters.

“The Eddies are a reflection of the extraordinary talent and creativity in our community,” said Eddies Producer Kelly Auricchio. “And this night is a celebration of the artists who work tirelessly all year long to build something real and lasting, and a reminder of just how vibrant and diverse our local music scene truly is.”

The Eddies Music Awards is a production of Proctors Collaborative, sponsored by MLB Construction Services, LLC. The Eddies Music Awards continue to grow as a platform recognizing, validating, and celebrating the artists and organizations that make the Capital Region’s music culture so special.
