In Focus: Amerás at Brooklyn Music Kitchen

Amerás – a Neo Soul songwriter from Maryland now based in Brooklyn – delivered a transformative performance at Brooklyn Music Kitchen on April 14th which exceeded all expectations.

Before releasing her anticipated album The Waiting Room LP this year Amerás used the Brooklyn Music Kitchen stage to perform while simultaneously reviving listeners through her genuine performance style and  energetic musical delivery. The audience felt an immediate sense of comfort when she stepped onto the stage because they  sensed they were experiencing a personal journey rather than watching a performance.

During her show Amerás surprised her audience by playing an upbeat version of her song “Butterflies” which added a playful touch to the already beautiful track. The combination of her Neo-Soul heritage with new material and personal stories and anecdotes made Amerás create an event that resembled a shared community event more than a traditional concert.

One of the most heartfelt moments came when she introduced “Psalm 51,” explaining to the crowd that while struggling to finish the song, she decided to turn to scripture—using faith as a foundation to complete her art. The emotional performance reached its peak when Amerás offered a heartfelt prayer that brought protective hope and collective gratitude to envelop the entire audience before she  finished her performance.

The Waiting Room LP stands as more than an album because it represents the artist’s journey of personal growth alongside her resilience and soulful music. Through her musical creations Amerás establishes a sanctuary which  allows people to discover genuine recognition and comprehension alongside healing. Brooklyn received a preview of the upcoming future which proves to be a valuable experience.

Amerás performed a variety of  songs during her show by presenting both brand-new material and fan-favorite tracks alongside exclusive musical collaborations.
