Skaneateles Music Festival Unveils Star-Studded 2025 Lineup

The Skaneateles Festival announced its 2025 season lineup, featuring an impressive array of distinguished musicians across multiple genres. Scheduled to run from July 31 through August 23, the festival will present thirteen main concerts complemented by educational programs and community outreach performances.

Week One: July 31 – August 2

Week one kicks off on July 31 with Ruckus, a period instrument ensemble bringing a mix of folk-Baroque dance tunes and 18th-century Scottish fiddle music. On August 1, Béla Fleck’s BEATrio takes the stage. The 19-time GRAMMY-winning banjo virtuoso is joined by harpist Edmar Castañeda and drummer Antonio Sánchez. The week wraps up with a nature-themed orchestral program, highlighting selections from Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” and Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2, with pianist Soyeon Kate Lee as the featured soloist.

Week Two: August 7 – 9

Week two offers a rich lineup, starting with the acclaimed Calidore String Quartet interpreting Beethoven’s “Razumovsky” Quartet on August 7. Australian guitar duo Ziggy and Miles will bring their talents to community performances throughout the week. Closing things out on August 9 is five-time GRAMMY winner esperanza spalding, an artist whose groundbreaking sound continues to push the boundaries of contemporary jazz.

Week Three: August 14 – 16

Week three brings an exciting mix of classical and contemporary works. On August 14, violinist Anthony Marwood leads a performance of Schubert’s beloved “Trout” Quintet. The following evening, August 15, features a dramatic retelling of Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale.” Then, on August 16, acclaimed fiddlers Mark and Maggie O’Connor take the stage with the Skaneateles Festival Orchestra, sharing the program with compositions by Chickasaw composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate.

Week Four: August 20 – 23

The festival’s final week features 2025 GRAMMY-winning tenor Nicholas Phan presenting Schubert’s “Die schöne Müllerin” on August 20. The Jasper Quartet will offer works inspired by indigenous cultures on August 21. The Bill Charlap Trio concludes the festival on August 23 with their sophisticated interpretations of the American Songbook.

Performances for the Skaneateles Festival alternate between the First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles and the Robinson Pavilion at Anyela’s Vineyards. Adult tickets range from $35-70, with free lawn seating for those under 18. Season Passes are currently available, with individual tickets releasing May 1 at skanfest.org.
