Levitt AMP Utica Presents the Rebirth Brass Band Monday Night

Utica’s free Monday Night concert series at Kopernik Park on Genesee Street continues Aug. 5. with a show from the Grammy-winning Rebirth Brass Band. The music kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with a performance from the nine-piece funk outfit D’Funk’D.

Formed in 1983, Rebirth incorporates funk and hip-hop into their traditional New Orleans second line sound, creating a celebration through music. Attendees may encounter a genuine second line as the band makes its way to the stage for its 7:30 p.m. performance.

The Levitt AMP Music Series is a summer-long event featuring free live music funded by grants through the Levitt Foundation. The matching grants are provided to non-profits in small to mid-size towns and cities across the country to inject new life into public spaces. This is Utica’s fourth consecutive year as a Levitt AMP host. Concerts continue throughout August at Kopernik Park. For more information, visit the Levitt AMP – Utica website here.
