TSP Entertainment released the much anticipated lineup for the ninth annual Night Lights Music Festival, and it was worth the wait. The festival will take place Aug. 22-24, at the Heron grounds in Sherman. With three stages, a beautifully illuminated forest, and captivating art installations, Night Lights creates a truly magical experience for festival-goers.
This year, the lineup spans a variety of genres including electronic, jam, rock, funk, Americana, bluegrass, and indie. Headlining the festival is internationally touring mashup DJ and sampling master Girl Talk, aka Pittsburgh’s Greg Gills. Known for his diverse sample range and wild genre-smashing musical collages, Girl Talk is a guaranteed sweat-soaked dance party. Joining him at the top of the bill are Night Lights veterans and Buffalo’s groove-rock band, Aqueous. This is the band’s eighth year headlining the festival, and every year they bring a mind blowing performance highlighting their undeniable chemistry and evolution as a group. The festival will also see the debut of Aqueous guitarist and front man, Mike Gantzer’s, Uncle Mike’s Random Co., featuring moe.’s Vinne Amico, Rob Compa of Dopapod, Alric (A.C.) Carter of TAUK, and band mate Evan McPhaden.
Dance-punk favorites !!! (chk chk chk) bring punk roots fused with trans-Atlantic electronic influences to the festival for an epic dance party. The line-up also features rock/pop/funk powerhouse BIG Something, Colorado’s “electronic hydro funk” group, Sunsquabi, and jazz funk fusion masters, led by Snarky Puppy’s multi-Grammy–winning percussion duo of Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth, Ghost-Note. Other acts that highlight the diversity of the line-up include indie rockers Sego, “swamptronica” outfit Dirtwire, and some knee-stomping bluegrass from the Kitchen Dwellers.
