Ms. Lauryn Hill Announces Supporting Artists for Anniversary Tour

Lauryn Hill has announced her supporting cast to help celebrate the R&B singer’s upcoming 20th Anniversary tour for her debut, and only solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, kicking off July 5, in Virginia Beach.

Artists appearing on select dates include Nas, Busta Rhymes, A$AP Rocky, Big Boi, M.I.A., De La Soul, and comedian Dave Chappelle, to name a few. The New York/New Jersey area will see stops at Northwell Health at Jones Beach in Wantagh on July 15, featuring M.I.A., Busta Rhymes, and Jo Mersa Marley, and Aug. 8 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, featuring Nas, Santigold, and Victory.

Hill made a name for herself as part of the hip hop trio, The Fugees, before cementing a legacy for herself as a solo artist. The New Jersey native’s only solo release, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, is certified eight times platinum by the RIAA, selling 19 million copies of the album world-wide. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard charts and earned Hill 10 Grammy nominations, taking home 5 awards in 1999, making Hill the only female artist to be nominated, and win that many times in one night. The release is marked as the first hip hop album to ever to take home a Grammy for Album of the Year.
