Let’s Be Leonard Launches Kickstarter Campaign, New Music Video

Static is due out July 27

Let’s Be Leonard, an indie-jazz band out of Upstate NY is in the middle of an ambitious Kickstarter campaign in efforts to fund the printing costs of their upcoming record Static due out July 27. The release delves into ideas of self and relationships and was recorded in the fall of 2016 at Salem Arts Works in Salem, NY.  Upon completion of the album, the band then returned to Salem nearly a year later to shoot a film that runs parallel to the entirety of the album. The film stars Nicholas Wilsey in a leading role and was shot with vintage VHS Camcorders before being digitally transferred and edited.

Backers of the campaign will get to see “Most Days,” the first song and video from the album, exclusively and ahead the scheduled release to the general public later this summer. Fans may opt to receive Static on CD, Cassette, Vinyl, and/or DVD and also have the option to purchase a variety of other merch items such as hats, posters, and t-shirts. The campaign also offers some higher priced rewards including personal house-shows, business sponsorships, and the VHS Tapes filled with raw footage from the movie’s filming. The band is even offering up their flagship pink schoolbus as a reward to any interested individual, a sale that will instantly fund the entire campaign.

Back in January, Leonard shared a live preview of some tracks that will be on their next studio effort. The recording comes from Caffe Lena and was produced by F. Cavone Productions.

Let’s Be Leonard has plenty on their schedule for the upcoming summer as they begin to make some of their first appearances on the bustling festival circuit. They will also be celebrating the anticipated release of Static on July 27 with the details still under wraps.
