It’s been fifty years since Steve Miller Band released Children of The Future on Capitol Records. Eighteen studio albums and five decades later, they’re re-releasing their first nine works on vinyl and touring North America, with special guest Peter Frampton. Show dates include performances in New York at Radio City Music Hall on June 27, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on June 29, the Watertown Fairgrounds on June 30 and at Artpark in Lewiston on July 3. Tickets are on sale now. Preorders are being taken for the vinyl reissues,which will be available in May.
Steve Miller Band debuted on Capitol Records with two studio albums in 1968. They released seven more albums by 1976, including the platinum album The Joker and multi-platinum Fly Like An Eagle. Capitol/UMe are re-releasing them this year. This collection of nine albums have been digitally remastered and is being offered on 180-gram vinyl. They can be purchased as a box set, or individually. Individual albums are available in limited edition colored vinyl. Although not available until May 18, they can be preordered now. Digital copies will be available, released on a weekly schedule starting now and stretching though mid-April, starting this week with Children of The Future.
