David Byrne will officially be embarking on his sophomore solo tour starting in March. If that doesn’t excite fans, then the anticipation of his new album certainly will. The Poughkeepsie Journal said not only will he be showcasing the new material during his 2018 tour, he will also likely play a number of hits such as “Burning Down the House,” “Life During Wartime” and “Psycho Killer.”
The only New York tour dates listed on his personal site are a March 6, 2018 performance at the Center for Arts in Buffalo and March 10 show at the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston. If those dates aren’t doable, he’ll be in Waterbury Connecticut on March 9, 2018 at the Palace Theatre, 20 minutes north of New Haven. Tickets for all of these shows average $75.00 and will go on sale this Friday, December 15.
It’s truly a mystery as to what his next line up of shows will hold. His last tour without the Talking Heads original members included an album release and full length tour with Annie Clark, a.k.a. St. Vincent, in 2012-13. No one knew what to expect and once the album was released and they started touring, people were pleasantly surprised. NPR went behind the scenes of the performance’s developmental stages – it’s an intriguing video (below) showing the dedication he still holds for the performing arts which allude to some, hopefully, unforgettable 2018 solo performances by Byrne.
