It’s been an eventful week for The Dirty Pennies. On top of a rip-roaring set at Rochester’s Park Ave Festival, they also announced they’ll be hitting the road soon. The alternative blues trio from Rochester will be traveling to Nashville this month, making stops in Ohio on the way back. Gigs are lined up in New York before and after the tour. They’ll be playing at the Moosic Fest in North Rose on August 19, and a hometown show in Rochester on Sept. 30.
The Dirty Pennies play gritty garage blues infused with influences ranging from alternative to country. Formed in Rochester, the group started with Ryan Klem on vocals and guitar and Lucas Howe on drums. Bassist Joe Mungo joined the band in 2015. The power trio self-released their debut album Kick Out The Rocks this spring. Learn more about the band in their interview with NYS Music.
