The Fairfield Theater Company – New Emerging Artists Series Ft. Xeno and Oaklander With Hosts Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth

Held at FTC’s intimate venue, Stage One, New York based Xeno and Oaklander will kick off another artist series intended to bring light to more on-the-rise artists.  The series will feature a meet and greet with the band and the founding members of The Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth on Thursday, May 18th.

Xeno and Oaklander will be the first of many to join series and will showcase their synth-pop style that is praised by several outlets such as The Brooklyn Vegan, who said, “These two perform like the last three decades never happened, strictly analogue, with piles of vintage gear strung together with patch cables. Squint and you might think you’d been transported back to Sheffield, England circa 1979.” Even NPR speaks highly of them. “Wendelbo’s voice drips and warps like a Dali painting, giving the song elastic movement.”

Although they record their music in a studio based in Brooklyn, they come from vastly different backgrounds; Miss Liz Wendelbo is French / Norwegian and Sean McBride is from Maryland and they exclusively play analogue synthesizers and instruments. They have been recording since 2004 and have released five full length albums as well as writing and scoring music for a number of artists.

This won’t be the only chance to meet Frantz and Weymouth – They will host all forthcoming Emerging Artist Series shows. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased on the Fairfield Theater Company’s website for just $15 – doors open at 7:00 and the show starts at 7:45.
