Lockn’s Releases Daily Schedule, Announces Phil Lesh and Bob Weir To Perform ‘Terrapin Station’

All week on social media, Lockn’ Music Festival has been revealing additions to their lineup by releasing several daily post on artist and bands that will appear at the festival during random times of each day. The fifth annual event, will take place at the Oak Ridge Farm, in Arrington, VA, on Aug. 24-27. They released the daily lineup for the event this morning.

One of those things that makes Lockn’ special is the collaboration and the reuniting of artist. This years festival will see a special performance by Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, as the will perform The Grateful Dead’s 1977 album Terrapin Station. Lesh and his Terrapin Family Band are already slated to celebrate the album’s 40th year anniversary at this years Lockn’, but adding Weir to the picture makes for something very special.

Festival promoter Peter Shapiro talked to Rolling Stone about the bandmates playing together:

Having Bobby and Phil perform Terrapin Station together is one of those moments that we created Lockn’ for. I’m hoping it’s a musical experience that Deadheads will be able to lose themselves into and then live on as a live recording that will create lasting magic for a long time.

Weir and Lesh can be seen collaborating with other artist during the festival as Phil Lesh and Friends are to join moe., and Weir can be seen popping up here and there to perform at random with other bands.

Other artist performing over the 4-day festival will include The Disco Biscuits, John Fogerty, Gov’t Mule, Umphrey’s McGee, moe. Widepread Panic, Greesky Bluegrass, The Avett Brothers, Antibalas, Blackberry Smoke, Keller Williams, Brandi Carlile, The Record company, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The String Cheese Incident Margo Price and Tauk to name a few.

Tier 1 tickets for Lockn’ are now available for $279.
