Twiddle Re-Releases Song with Legendary Producer

Vermont jam quartet Twiddle has rerecorded and rereleased their tune “When It Rains, It Pours” with legendary producer Ron Saint Germain (311, Sonic Youth, the Cure.)  The band’s new record label, SoNo Recording Group, released the new single via social media and the SRG website.

The song, is featured on both Twiddle’s 2011 release Somewhere on the Mountain as well as the band’s 2014 live release Live at Nectar’s.  According to a statement made on the SRG website, lead guitarist and vocalist Mihali Savoulidis explained the decision to include “WIRIP” on the upcoming release of Plump – Chapter 1 and 2.

“Our new label hooked us up with legendary producer Ron Saint Germain.  He wanted to work on ‘When It Rains It Pours’, and we all agreed. The song has always resonated with our fans, and we have received many messages on how it has personally impacted their lives.  We wanted to bring it’s message to as many ears as possible.”

Several changes have been made from the song’s original 2011 studio release, including the name and lyrics as well as the addition of strings and layered vocals. Originally titled “When It Rains, It Poors”, the new title reflects a more correct reflection of the famous idiom. In addition, some lyrics have been removed to accommodate a shorter, more radio friendly version.

This past summer, the song garnered attention at the band’s Tumble Down Music Festival, when Phish’s Page McConnell surprised fans with a sit-in for the event’s final night set two “Hattie’s Jam>When It Rains, It Poors” opener.

“When It Rains It Pours” is available for download and streaming from all major online music sources including iTunes, Google , Amazon MP3, Spotify, Apple Music, and Soundcloud.
