Firefly To Be First Ever Fan Curated Event, Possible Swedish House Mafia Return

If you’re a concert or music festival goer, you’ve probably sat back with friends or even thought to yourself, this lineup would be perfect if so-and-so were performing or if I were in charge of the festival, the lineup would look this way. Well, this year’s Firefly Music Festival will give fans that exact opportunity, to create the lineup for next year’s festival.

Not only has Firefly sent out a poll with a list of bands that fans can choose from, fans will be able to vote and choose on every aspect of the festival, except for the actual location of the festival, which takes place in The Woodlands at the Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware.

Firefly’s website has a list of various polls fans can vote on. Not only can fans vote the festivals lineup, they will also have control over what food is served during the four day festival; what kind of merchandise will be sold and what design will go on t-shirts, koozies, and other merchandise, displays, entertainment for Wednesday’s pre-party,  games and everything else in between. Fans can head to the Firefly website to register and submit their ideas for the festival.

Since 2012, Firefly has produced a great mix of musical genres, and has seen some of the best in the music industry grace the stages throughout the years. Artists performing at past Fireflys have included Paul McCartney, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, John Legend, Bassnectar, The Killers, Lupe Fiasco, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Foo Fighters, Imagine Dragons, The Chainsmokers, Blink-182 and Deadmau5 to name a few.

Fans are speculating that EDM artist The Swedish House Mafia could be returning in 2017, as they are part of the Electronic artist poll. Firefly states that the survey is also being used for future festivals and is meant to gauge interest in artists and that there is no hidden message that SHM will appear.

Firefly Music Festival is produced by Red Frog Events and will take place June 15-18, 2017.
