Public radio station WFUV at Fordham University in The Bronx is presenting its twelfth annual Holiday Cheer benefit show this coming Wednesday, November 30, at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
This year’s lineup has brought the show to near sell-out numbers with just a few days until the show, and has a record of selling out. Holiday Cheer 2016 features The Record Company, Amos Lee, Lucinda Williams, and Corinne Bailey Rae, performers who are no strangers to the rock-and-roots crowd.
Amos Lee is making his third Holiday Cheer performance this year. Lee recently released his sixth studio album, Spirit, in August 2016 which charted at #3 out of 50 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums. Like Amos Lee, Lucinda Williams makes a return appearance at Holiday Cheer, headlining the show previously in 2012. The Record Company is fairly new to the touring music scene having released their debut album Give It Back To You this past February, but have grabbed the attention of crowds at their many stops across the country and a handful throughout New York including the mixed-weather 2016 Mountain Jam. Rounding out the bill for Holiday Cheer is Corinne Bailey Rae, a soulful singer-songwriter from across the pond who also has a recent release – her third studio album The Heart Speaks in Words.
Tickets for Holiday Cheer are still available through Ticketmaster but in limited quantities throughout all levels of the theatre. Tickets are also available by phone at 1-866-858-0008, at Ticketmaster outlets and from the Beacon Theatre.
