Umphrey’s McGee announced a short run of dates in early 2017, starting with their previously announced three-night stand in Atlanta and working their way up the east coast before closing out in Detroit. Spafford joins them for most of the run, which brings them to Albany and Rochester.
Umphrey’s McGee will head out on a short winter tour in 2017, kicking off with the previously announced three-night run at the Tabernacle in Atlanta Jan. 13 to 15. From there, they head north with five nights in the Northeast starting at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania on Jan. 22. From there, they play four nights in New England and New York. They hit up the College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut on Jan. 26 followed by Jan. 27 at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine. The two New York dates find them at Albany’s Palace Theatre on Jan. 28 and Anthology in Rochester on Jan. 29. The tour closes out with two nights at the Fillmore in Detroit Feb. 3 and 4.
Electro-funk act Spafford will be joining Umprey’s McGee for most of the run. In addition to Spafford, Joshua Redman will rejoin Umphrey’s on saxophone for their four nights in New England and New York, as he did in 2015 to much praise.
Pre-sale tickets and umVIP tickets go on sale tomorrow, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. The public on sale is Friday, Oct. 21.
