Legendary American punk-folk band Violent Femmes unveiled their North American headline dates this fall as part of their 2016 world tour.

The trio consists of Gordon Gano (vocals, guitar, banjo) and Brian Ritchie (vocals, bass acoustic guitar), and John Sparrow (drummer).

Violent Femmes formed in 1980 in Milwaukee, first attracting attention to their unique style in their hometown at the Oriental Theater opening for Pretenders Chrissie Hynde and the late James Honeyman-Scott. Violent Femmes were known for being one of the most innovative groups of their time for their blend of folk, punk, sarcasm and spirituality.

They went on to record eight studio albums and more than a dozen iconic singles, such as “American Music,” “Gone Daddy Gone,” “Nightmares,” “Add It Up” and “Blister In The Sun.” Their following stretched into a fervent international fan base, which is still strong to this day.
