For the first time ever, Syracuse-based band Vaporeyes will have their own show at the Westcott Theater on Friday, June 17. This is one you won’t want to miss, as it is one of their last hometown shows for this summer, and also includes Teddy Midnight and Space Carnival on the bill.
Vaporeyes is a psychedelic jam-fusion band that’s been together for more than six years. This four-piece group is on the rise and has been sharing stages with bands like Papadosio, Jimkata, Zoogma, Kung Fu, Aqueous and Brothers Past. They’re the type of band that can crush it with improvisation and incorporate various styles and genres like metal, dance and jazz. Though this certainly isn’t their first time playing the Westcott Theater, this event will be great for the band to bring out their fans as being part of their own show. They’re also currently working on their next studio album.
From Oneonta, NY, Space Carnival will also take the stage to bring their high-energy disco and funk for a sound that’s out of this world. Only a few years old, the band has been producing their own original material and mixing it with covers to provide a high-energy performance. Rounding out the bill will be Teddy Midnight from Brooklyn. Their unique combination of many styles like progressive rock, jazz and downtempo inspired the group to describe themselves as an electro-dance-funk band. If you’re in the mood to boogie, this show is the place to be.
Doors will open at 7 p.m., Teddy Midnight is set to take the stage at 8 p.m., Space Carnival at 9:30 p.m. and Vaporeyes at 11 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here and are also available at the Sound Garden in Syracuse. All ages will be admitted to the show. Come out for a great time and check out the official Facebook event here.
