Troy’s Rockin’ on the River Lineup Features Felice Brothers

Troy’s free Wednesday night concerts at Riverfront Park have announced their 2016 lineup.

Rockin’ on the River, the eight-week summer series, runs from June 15 to Aug. 3, with events getting going at 5 p.m. each night. Residents of Troy have many great reasons to make a midweek trip into town after work this summer as this lineup is sure to please.RockinontheRiverStart Making Sense, the stellar Talking Heads tribute band who have been relentlessly touring and consistently “Byrne”-ing down the house, kick off the series on June 15. Close your eyes and you’ll be back at CBGB’s circa 1976. Additional tributes to late-greats happen on July 6 when Almost Queen tackles the music of, you guessed it, Queen; and on July 27 “Champlain Valley’s House Band” Blues For Breakfast return to Rockin’ on the River with a special celebration of the Grateful Dead.

But there’s plenty of great original music to be had as well. WEQX presents two stellar nights of music starting with Brooklyn punk-rockers So So Glos on June 29. Then on July 20 they bring the Felice Brothers and their rambunctious Americana party up from the Hudson Valley. NYS Music’s 2015 Music March Madness runners up Eastbound Jesus headline with their Northern rock on July 13. Check out the full lineup below.
