moe. New Year’s show will be in new, remote location

In a live interview on Made in Utica’s Facebook page, moe. guitarist Al Schnier talked about the band’s plans for New Year’s Eve this year, which will be a departure from the tradition of recent years.

Schnier said he wasn’t yet allowed to divulge the full details, but that it will be something out of the ordinary: The band will play somewhere “random and out of the way,” in a “remote location.”

“It’s not quite Alaska, but we talked about Alaska,” Schnier said. “We’re like, ‘What if we did something like that?’”

Schnier said the band will play the remote location, and if a few hundred people show up, they’ll be happy.

The last handful of years, moe. has played a New Year’s run at Albany’s Palace Theater.

Schnier also discussed sit-ins, moe.down, the upcoming Summer Camp Music Festival, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Kamasi Washington and a variety of other topics with Anthony Zee Donaldson at Saranac Brewery.
