Psychedelic roots-rockers Woods will make a rare jaunt to Upstate New York Thursday night when they come to The Haunt in Ithaca. The quintet will be opening a lengthy tour that will work a month in Europe in between two stints stateside that will take them coast to coast. The band is touring behind their recently released 9th album, City Sun Eater in the River of Light, a groovy and tight amalgam of all the influences they’ve amassed over the years, from folk to funk to jazz and bending beyond, with lead singer Jeremy Earl’s distinctive falsetto a constant throughout.
Fellow quintet, Lucky Jukebox Parade, out of Albany, will open the show with their indie pop punk party. Doors will open at 7pm with the music getting started around 8pm, this Thursday night. Tickets are $12 and available at the Haunt’s website or at the door if still available. The show is 18+.
