Buffalove dropped the final lineup for the 2016 festival, adding a slew of New York acts. Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and AquaFlow, a collaboration between members of Aqueous and Funktional Flow, top the lineup additions. Also added to the lineup are Ben Whelan Your Mom and the Reach Arounds, Formula 5, Buffalo Afrobeat Orchestra, Ocular Panther and Ponder the Giraffe.
The new-this-year DJ tent also saw some additions, including Alldaydnb, Basha and Spark Music.
Other non-musical additions were added to the festival for this year, as well. Theme nights were added. The theme for Friday night will be voted on by fans via a Facebook poll. Saturday night’s theme is “Studio 54,” while Sunday night will have a beach party theme. Prizes will be given out for best costumes, including tickets for the 2017 Buffalove festival. A kids tent was added to the festival this year. There will also be yoga, flow and fire-spinning classes offered.
Tickets have increased in price to $100, which includes three nights of camping.
Buffalove Music Festival returns to Chautauqua County for the 2016 festival season with new dates and a new location.
Buffalove, now in its fourth year, will be held July 29 to 31 at the Oxbo Campgrounds in Westfield, located about an hour from Buffalo and 30 minutes from Erie, Pennsylvania. The festival also has new festivities in store for Sunday along with a new DJ tent.
The initial lineup includes many familiar national and regional acts. The top-tier slots go to the String Cheese Incidence’s electronic side project EOTO, who plays late night; Buffalo’s own Aqueous and Funktional Flow, who will each play two nights with two sets each night; funk masters Pigeons Playing Ping Pong; Ithaca’s Jimkata; New York City’s Consider the Source; Broccoli Samurai; and Tropidelic.
Many other New York acts are included in the lineup. Jamestown’s Smackdab, who is scheduled for two sets, and Albany’s Mister F will both be there. Buffalo has a large contingency of acts performing, including Space Junk, Slip Madigan and Luanjie, who each play two sets. Other Buffalo acts include Adam Bronstein’s Freehand Band, Blue Rootz, AjamajA, Folkfaces, PA Line. Nearby Erie is represented by Gnosis.
The new DJ tent will feature Weazildust, The Verdict, MatKa, JeffRepeater, Chunin, Ab.Styles, trash and CHUCKS, with more to be announced.
The festival includes a variety of daily activities besides the music, including yoga, disc golf, fishing, kayaking and swimming at the state-owned gorge nearby. Several craft and food vendors will be on site throughout the festival.
Tickets for Buffalove are on sale now for $80 and include all three days as well as camping. Parking is an additional $10 per vehicle, paid upon arrival. Those wishing to only attend Sunday can do so for $40.
